Day 1: Kota Kinabalu – Kiulu Farmstay – Homestay

Pick up from hotel and journey 45 minutes to the countryside with a quick stop at Tamparuli Suspension Bridge and the nearby local market, passing the scenic view of the Kiulu Valley. Upon arrival, be greeted by your host family and briefed on the homestay programme. Enjoy scrumptious lunch cooked and served by your host family, then it is time to immerse yourself with the local culture and tradition by participating in the demonstration of the local games and activities such as rice pounding and sieving, blow pipe, handcrafts making, traditional fishing, play local games (Rampanau) and musical instruments with dance (gong and Sumazau). Proceed to take a village walk, offering stunning landscapes of the scenic valley as you pass through paddy fields, plantations and fruit orchards. After dinner have a good chat with your host family about the village history and folktales before retiring to bed.

Kiulu optional activities

If you’re keen for more adventure and cultural experience, there are many optional activities for you to try such as quad biking and cultural activities. So be sure to ask your host!

Kiulu homestay additional night

After breakfast, get ready to set off for a jungle trekking at Gaman Kapur Trail for approximately 2 hours with a chance to do rubber tapping. Thereafter, enjoy lunch before taking a dip at the sensationally cooling water of Mantob waterfall. After dinner, return to host family house for overnight stay. Itinerary for additional day on Day 02 MYR 165 per pax (optional)

Things to Bring

Please bring along sun block lotion, insect repellent, hat, walking / trekking shoes, sandal, drinking water bottle, swimming attire and towel.
